The Default setting for the Training Type uses the Training Type setting from the Level above it. For example, if you make a Training Required at the Company level, the default setting for both Plant and Group levels will be Required.
Trainings that aren't using the Default Type have a blue circular arrow icon 
next to the Type within the Training Administration Grid.
